Wilson leads area list; Barnesville and East Muskingum add top-ten marks
Caldwell eighth grader Conner Wilson moved to the top of the area's middle-school boys season-best list with an 11:12 at Belpre on September 19. He finished fourth in the two-mile race, four days after winning the MOVL 3,200-meter race in 11:20.90.
Barnesville's Dawson Hanse placed eighth at Belpre in 11:57, moving to fourth on the area list. Teammate Quinn Stephen finished fifteenth in 12:22. East Muskingum's Cam Thompson was 21st in 12:33, Miles Burga 31st in 12:57 and Eli Burga 41st in 13:16.
Wilson leads Indian Valley's TJ Linerode and Todd Fillman on the season list. Hanse is fourth, followed by Buckeye Trail's Emmett Taylor, Union Local's Samuel Garcia, Shenandoah's Bennett Hendershot, Cambridge's Simon Kanski, Indian Valley's Gage Kreinbihl and Claymont's Sage Watson. Watson entered the ten with a 12:21.67 at Boardman.
Barnesville seventh grader Maya Stephen ran 14:22 for twentieth at Belpre and moved to fourth on the area girls list. East Muskingum seventh grader Chloe Wilkinson finished 26th in 14:42 and moved to fifth, while Olivia Townsend's 14:50 put her seventh.
Claymont's Maelee Salsberry moved into sixth with a 14:44.14 at Boardman. Caldwell's Ivy Starr remains ninth with her MOVL time of 15:10.80 after running 15:23 at Belpre.
Garaway's Bristol Angel continues to lead the girls list with 13:35.18 from Seneca East on September 12. Cambridge's Sophie Callahan and Ivy Williams hold second and third with 13:58.06 and 14:15.96. East Muskingum's Nora Burdette and Becca Bradley complete the ten in eighth and tenth.
